Like the remaining 99.9%, I don’t think I’ve made an impact.
I don’t think I’ve done anything special or different from those who came before me.
I think that my story will be forgotten, as will the remaining 99.9%.
In comparison to everyone who came before, I am no one.
There are many figures forgotten by history, and many history wishes to forget.
Yet, even those that were overshadowed can still stand out. Salieri was overshadowed by Mozart, yet we still know his name. Mozart may have been a genius, but Salieri is not forgotten.
This begs the question, what is enough? At what point are you satisfied with your life? Are you fine with being the rival, or do you wish to be Mozart? Do you wish to be remembered for standing out amongst a crowd? Mozart was without a doubt, a genius. Many would give up when Mozart exists, but Salieri is remembered. There are many famous and influential people, yet you still exist.
History will be made when you aren’t around, so make your mark now.
Make your mark on the land you walk, as you will either be Saliari or no one.
