Reviewing my 2023 goals (Quarter one)

I’m going to do something different. I want to see how I progress with my goals each month. I talked about my goals in my end-of-year post, and I want to talk about how much I’ve achieved. I plan to do this throughout the year. And since we are about a quarter of the way there, I thought I’d start now, and try to do the next lot every three months, ending on the big end-of-year post for 2023.

First, let’s remind ourselves of my goals.

  • Release 2 games
  • Keep posting on this blog
  • Keep my web novel going
  • Release Oscar Pat 5
  • Get monetisation on YouTube
  • Read a book a month
  • Exercise more.

These are my standard goals, and most of them are continuous. However, there is one that has a strict time frame. I originally planned to read a book a month. I have failed. I never found the time to finish reading the book I was reading through and was unable to create a schedule around reading.

In the months that have passed, I’ve been busier than I thought, but also more productive.

My YouTube and Streaming have been extra busy, and I’ve mostly managed to keep to my original schedule of two times a week. I plan to continue this for as long as possible. I’ve gotten closer to my 1000 subscriber goal but I am still really far away. I will keep doing my best.

Originally, I wanted to try and update this blog more often, but time and writer’s block have gotten in my way, this is also true for my web novels. Although I have gone through and reread/rewrote a lot of the Four Guardians, I’m slowly getting through Continuous School.

In terms of game development, my projects have shifted. I recently returned to an old abandoned project and brought it new life. I was hoping to have it released very soon, this month in fact. Only time and my procrastination will tell if I can release it or not in time.

So far, this is all dull and negative. It sounds like I’ve achieved nothing! But let’s talk about the two positives.

The first positive is that I have been exercising much more. Three times a week I’ve been running and doing various little exercises to try and feel better about my body.

And lastly, the big one. I finally released Oscar Pat 5. This was something that was meant to be out last year. And it was almost 1 whole year late. I wanted to release it in April 2022, but only managed to get around to finishing it in February 2023. I hope to have a premium post come out soon detailing more about it all, and why it took so long. So if you want to read that, be sure to support this blog and become a premium member. You can find more information in the support page.

That’s it so far, thanks for reading. I can tick off two goals but sadly cross one. There is still a lot of time left in the year, so who knows what will happen.
