It’s easy to get embarrassed about something. For instance, it is easy to hate people watching you dance. But in reality, you should be living your best life. You should be able to get up and dance regardless of how you look, feel or even dance. You could be the worst dancer but the world shouldn’t care, the world should dance along with you.
Embracing your own self is the biggest step to self-happiness. If you can’t love yourself then you stand no chance of loving anyone else. If you can’t make a fool of yourself and laugh with others, you’ll stand no chance of finding what you want.
Being yourself and being happy about it is the biggest step any human could ever make.
In this world, there is a lot of hatred. There is a lot of anxiety around our own actions. The reality should be “who cares” but sadly isn’t.
However, regardless of this reality, we should just get up and dance. We should ignore whatever is looking at us and laugh along with them. Making a fool of yourself is enjoying life greater than someone who isn’t. If you live by strictness and not a child-like joy, you’ll only regret it.
Laughing at yourself isn’t a skill, nor is it a challenge. It is something anyone can do, and it is a great step towards peace. A leap towards accepting yourself and who you are, regardless of flaws. What you think is wrong, isn’t to someone else. What you think is awkward, is cute to someone else. What you think is embarrassing is love at first sight for someone else.
Laughter is the peace that connects everyone.
Laughter oversteps barriers.
Laughter oversteps language.
But without accepting that laughter can come at yourself, that barrier will never fall.
I was out drinking and had a bit of a dance with a group of Morris Dancers. The song involved a group dance and I was against it at first, but eventually joined in. I was recorded and hated it, but quickly shared it on my social media because I realised that the world doesn’t care and neither should I. The dancing was done by many, regardless of how awful I thought I looked. I want to care less about the opinion of others. I want to try and live my best life, regardless of what other people may think. I want to have fun, even if I look like a fool doing so.
