We will never all agree

Let’s get controversial.

How?

By talking about opinions.

Opinions are controversial because every single person in this world can’t agree with you. There is no single thought or idea that 100% of the population agrees with. I’d even go as far to say there is no opinion that the whole of a country could agree on.

But regardless of what someone may think the important part is understanding between the two parties.

If party A is unwilling to listen to party B it makes it harder to understand party A’s reasoning.

It’s simple to forget that the world around you is as human as you are.

Humans live a fragile existence but they are also an arrogant one.

Humans will take offence if they are told they are in the wrong and stand by what they say regardless of what they think. Someone could easily be convinced otherwise and still argue their side because they refuse to be seen as wrong.

Does this make them wrong? It’s hard to say.

In the moment, when a person is controlled by emotions, it’s hard to admit anything. However, once things have calmed down they can be understood.

But why are people so afraid of admitting their mistakes?

The answer is embarrassment.

It’s embarrassing to admit you are wrong.

People will live their lives thinking of the tiniest mistakes and never forget them regardless of who actually cares, which is why they don’t want to be embarrassed.

Of course on a neutral ground, where both sides are understanding, there is no embarrassment. If both sides can listen and view the opposing point of view, there is no need for anyone to lose face.

The biggest example is politics. In a large majority of countries, politics is screaming at the top of your lungs that the other side is wrong and you are right.

We see people protest by screaming and shouting until the other side runs away in fear of their own lives.

We see the rulers of the world watch as the people they serve divide themselves harder than ever before.

It’s a simple question “Why can’t we all get along?”

You probably laughed at reading that, because we can all laugh at how idealistic that sounds.

The world will never be a utopia, not because of those in power, but because of the people that occupy it.

That isn’t to say the people in power are doing their best, but even the greatest government in the world is ruined by the people.

Thanks for reading. I know it’s been a while and this sudden post may seem strange, but I kinda just wanted to put something out there.
