Doctor Who Fluxed Episode 3 just finished, and I’ve got something to say.
I thought it was the best episode yet.
But, not by much.
I enjoyed the mystery of it, it feels like we finally are starting to get some answers, but I can imagine that smaller fans of the show would have probably stopped watching by this point.
I’m a fan of all this confusion and little bits of backstory, but I can see why others are confused.
A lot in this episode did feel pointless, it felt really obvious that they were trying to stretch for time. But I know they wanted to show off backstories, and this is a clever way of doing so. It took them till episode 3, but they finally learnt they need to make their characters interesting.
But it still doesn’t feel like it should be 6 episodes, if anything it should just be 3 or 4.
It didn’t make much sense how the doctor fixed things or even got into the ‘Time Stream?’ in the first place. It always feels so convenient and way too easy.
I’m not too keen on another character being added, but since it was for Vinder (or however his name is spelt) I’ll allow it. It did make him feel more human.
And next comes the biggest complaint, the dialogue.
The worst line in the entire dialogue was having Dan tell Vinder to give up on finding the person he was looking for.
Because LITERALLY A FEW MINUTES AGO, Dan is determined to save the girl he wants, but can’t.
Dan should be understanding of it. A similar situation just happened to him and yet he’s like, ‘Nah, she’s gone lol.’
The Doctor still doesn’t stop talking, as she has a need to explain what is happening to her in the time stream for our sake. Yaz still keeps asking questions.
Overall, it’s interesting. It’s a unique take and surprisingly clever. I enjoyed it.
There were fewer noticeable issues, which is always great.
I’m going to end this here. This was a short one because I have so little to complain about.
This is the halfway point in the series and it really needs to start picking up the pace or else it will easily come crashing down and flop.
It’s got its audience interested, and if it suddenly does something drastic, it could risk it all.
Thanks for reading! Sorry if this post is a mess, once again, I’m quickly writing this just after the episode ended.
