Approaching Holidays

Christmas is in a few days (or it’s month’s away depending on when you read this), and to me Christmas is weird.

It’s not wrong to say that Christmas isn’t as strongly associated with religion as it used to be, it’s more of just a general time to celebrate with friends and family whilst having a dinner and a time to show other’s your feelings. Christmas could be the time you plan to propose to your future partner, or maybe the time where you wish to ask out your friend for the first time in hopes they’ll say yes. Or maybe you just plan to spend it with family. Maybe you even are having a nice relaxed Christmas by yourself. And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, then there are the days off that are the best.

Of course, I’m not trying to say Christmas is a great time for all, some people don’t celebrate it and some don’t care for it.

But to get back on topic, it’s interesting to me as it’s different around the world and every family has their own traditions. I’ve always been a bit of a romantic so the magic of Christmas is something I enjoy (even if I hate almost all Christmas movies), I think just the atmosphere of Christmas is something I’d enjoy if I was spending it with a partner, but I’m single so that won’t happen.

Anyway, I don’t have anything special to talk about. I look forward to Christmas every year but always end up being a little too excited so I get disappointed when it doesn’t meet my expectations. Kinda like when you’re super hyped about a film or game and it ends up being pretty boring. But, that’s the cycle of Christmas for me. I really enjoy Christmas music and enjoy just spending it with family.
