This will be a slightly upsetting update regarding the project, I won’t waste time, so let’s get into it:
During the week I was working on implementing saving and loading in Project Living, and during my adventure, the game files got corrupted. I managed to fix the errors and the project is back into the state it was before I started working on saving and loading, but this experience taught me something, this project is too big for me at the moment.
I’m only 1 person and also someone who wants to achieve a lot, because of this. It is possible for me to complete this project (or at least get it to the stage where I can put it on early access), but it would come at a cost, and that cost would be my mental health.
I only just graduated from university and am currently unemployed, and we live in a time where mental health is especially important. There is a lot I need to still figure out in my life and I don’t know how to do that. So, I’ll be taking a break from the project.
I’ll still be doing other things regarding novellas and my web novels, but for now, this project will be on a little break.
Perhaps I’ll work on a smaller project and try to learn more.
I’m not saying this project will be forgotten, ideally, I’ll keep thinking about it and working out the basic systems in my head, but it’s best to say this project is on indefinite hiatus.
I want it to come back but can’t promise anything.
As I said above, I might try and work on some other projects but don’t know just yet.
I have a holiday planned at the end of this month so I’ll be away for a week then it’ll hopefully be a good time to relax and focus on resting.
In uncertain times there is a lot of pressure for everyone and it’s good to relax every now and then. I should really be out in the world getting a job. And I know making excuses for myself by trying to work on solo projects, writing and blog stuff in hopes something works out, but who knows.
There’s a lot to figure out.
